ROYAL BAHAMAS POLICE FORCE
ISLAND OF BIMINI, BAHAMAS

Young People

The Royal Bahamas Police Force is acutely interested in the lives of our young people. The police officers want our young people to take the straight course and to avoid opportunities and situations and even people who will influence them in destructive behaviour. It is so easy for our youth to make poor decisions and the when they do the police often become involved. Often a simple error in judgment by a young person can lead to a criminal record and the consequences of that can impact a young person for an entire lifetime  Our young people are very important to the on-going development of our communities and our country. They are, as we so often hear, the leaders of tomorrow. This page is filled with information for young people. The police want to help steer our young people into positive behaviour that is life-enriching not life-destroying.

the police want to work with you and help you to make good decisions. Smart choices.

Sergeant Checkley also gave a presentation to the entire assembly on policing as a career. "Are you ready to accept the challenge of daring to wear the red stripe and to serve your community as a police officer, as a problem solver, as a peace maker?" asked Sgt Checkley. "Policing is a rewarding, exciting, rarely dull and always challenging career", he added. "Its not for everyone but it could be for you."

Your future deserves your best shot so plan for your future now", he emphasised. "Interested in law enforcement, then come to our booth and come to the station and we can talk about it."
