The Royal Bahamas Police Force is under the direction of the Commissioner of Police. The current commissioner is:
Ellison Greenslade, Q.P.M., M.B.A., D.H.L.

Commissioner Greenslade directs the Royal Bahamas Police Force from Police Headquarters in Nassau, New Providence. The Commissioner of Police is responsible to the Minister of National Security, currently the Honourable O.A.T.(Tommy) Turnquest. A Deputy Commissioner, Quinn McCartney,QPM, together with Assistant Commissioners, Hulan Hanna, Glen Miller, John Ferguson, Anthony Ferguson and Asst Comm Emrick Seymour, all with varying areas of responsibility, support the commissioner in his role.
Commissioner Greenslade has received several honours throughout his career including The Queen’s Police Medal (QPM) for distinguished police service and the Prime Minister’s Above and Beyond award from The Right Honourable Prime Minister, Hubert A. Ingraham. He is also the recipient of the Police Force’s medals for meritorious service, long service, and good conduct. In 2003 he was selected "Boss of The Year" for the Island of Grand Bahama and in early 2006 received the communications and leadership award from Toastmaster International for exemplary leadership. In October of 2006, he was commended by His Excellency, The Governor General of The Commonwealth of The Bahamas, during an award ceremony at Government House, for distinguished service in saving lives during a natural disaster. He has an earned M.B.A. degree and was recently awarded an honorary Doctor of Letters degree.
Commissioner Greenslade has membership in a number of international organisations including The International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP), The National Organisation of Black Law Enforcement Officials (NOBLE), and The IACP Communications and Technology Committee.
THE FAMILY ISLANDS
The Family Islands are currently under the supervision and direction of an Assistant Commissioner of Police who is posted at police headquarters in Nassau, New Providence. He is assisted by Superintendent Noel Curry who is stationed at Marsh Harbour, Abaco. Bimini is a police sub-division of the northern Bahamas region headed by Supt Curry.
BIMINI SUB-DIVISION
Assistant Superintendent of Police Michael Moxey is officer-in-charge of the Bimini Sub-Division of the Royal Bahamas Police Force. Mr Moxeyl has had a distinguished career in the police service having worked for many years in the Drug Enforcement Unit. For several years, prior to his posting to Bimini, ASP Moxey was officer-in-charge of the Commercial Crime Section of the Central Detective Unit in Nassau.
