CHIEF
INSPECTOR KEVIN MORTIMER
Kevin Mortimer, Chief Inspector of Police, is
the Officer-in-Charge of the Bimini Division having succeeded
Assistant Superintendent of Police Stephen Newbold in early January
2008. Mr Mortimer brings to this position a quarter-century of
policing skills and experience which has included service on several
Family Islands namely Andros District, Eleuthera District, Cat
Island District as officer-in-charge and Grand Bahama and Northern
Bahamas District.
Mr Mortimer was
transferred to Grand Bahama and the Northern Bahamas District in
December 2000 and worked as second in command at Mobile Division and
officer-in-charge of the Traffic Division. He was later appointed
Officer-in-Charge and Training Manager for the Police Training
College in Grand Bahama (first recruits trained outside New
Providence). This post was held from the establishment of the
Satellite College in 2003 until his transfer to Bimini
Division.
Mr Mortimer is a
certified Disaster Management Instructor. He was promoted to the
rank of Inspector in 1999 and to Chief Inspector in 2007. He is the
holder of the Long Service and Good Conduct Medal and the Police
Meritorious Service Medal.
SERGEANT 2107
LOCKHART SECOND IN CHARGE/BIMINI DIVISION

Sergeant 2107 Gregory Lockhart
is an 18 year veteran of the police service and has served in
Nassau, Abaco and Grand Bahama during his career. He has been
appointed Second-in-Charge of the Bimini Division. He replaces Sgt
Steven Hamilton who has returned to Central Police Station in
Freeport, Grand Bahama.
DETECTIVE CORPORAL 2256 MARTIN
ROBERTS

A fifteen year veteran of the police service D/Cpl 2256
Roberts served in Bimini for ten years prior to his posting to
Freeport Grand Bahama in 2005. Detective Roberts recently
returned to the Bimini District where he heads the Scenes of Crime
Unit and the Criminal Records Office(CRO) in Bimini.
CORPORAL 2169 PRESCOTT
PINDER

Corporal Pinder, prior to his
Bimini transfer, served in Grand Bahama. He has extensive
police experience in all areas of policing but has specialised in
the areas of court prosecutions and community policing. He has
served for eleven years with the Police Staff Association in
several capacities, including the executive tier.

RANDY LEWIS

Detective Corporal Lewis joined
the police service in 2002. He has served largely
in Freeport, Grand Bahama prior to his transfer to Bimini.
Lewis is a detective corporal and has served with the Central
Detective Unit in Grand Bahama. While undertaking general police
duties he is also a lead investigator in Bimini.
CORPORAL 771 STACY
ROLLE

Corporal Stacy 771 Rolle
has served in Grand Bahama and came to Bimini in January
2008 from the Lucaya Police Station in Freeport.
She undertakes community policing programmes and performs
general police duties.
RESERVE SERGEANT R473 MICHAEL CHECKLEY, GCHS, BA
BEd

Reserve Sergeant Michael
Checkley joined the police service in 2001 and prior to this
was a District Constable.Educated in Canada, Sergeant Checkley
taught at the Bimini All Age School from 1986 until 2000. He
continues his association with the island's schools with
community and school policing programmes. He also performs general
police duties. Active in international charitable fund raising
organisations he has been honoured by both The Queen and the
late Pope John Paul II. He is also an associate member of
the International Association of Chiefs of Police and an honorary
member of the Senior Officer's Mess at police headquarters.

CONSTABLE 2478 SAUNDERS

A twelve year veteran of the
Royal Bahamas Police Force, Constable Saunders comes to Bimini from
Elizabeth Estates Station in Nassau, New Providence. A native of
south Andros, Saunders has served two tours of duty on Eleuthera
which included Harbour Island. This is is third posting to a Family
Island. PC 2478 Saunders performs general police duties.

CONSTABLE 1324 MIK SEARS

Constable 1324
Sears was born and educated in Nassau. A graduate of A F Adderley
Secondary School, he entered the Police College in 2000. Upon
graduation he entered Fire Branch and served there for a number
years before being transferred to Grand Bahama. He was transferred
to Bimini in January 2008. He performs general police
duties.

CONSTABLE 2791 BENJAMIN MOSS

Constable 2791
BJ Moss grew up in Bimini and attended Holy Name Catholic School. He
went off the island to complete his high school
education and later joined the Royal Bahamas Police. A
five year veteran of the police service, Moss specialised in Fire
Branch. He works with the volunteer fire brigade and in commuinty
fire prevention programmes but he also performs general police
duties.

CONSTABLE 2955 MARIO RAHMING, A.A., B.A

Mario Rahming joined the
police service in 2005 after attending Kaiser College in Fort
Lauderdale, Florida where he received degrees in computer
engineering and techincal science. After graduation from Eight Mile
Rock Secondary School in Grand Bahama he attended the Bahamas
Technical and Vocational Institute again with an interest in
computer studies. He performs general police duties. He is one
of the officers assigned to the VIP Management,
Protocol and Security Unit and
has been chauffeur for visiting government officials
and distinguished visitors. He has been chauffeur for the Governor
General on two occasions.

CONSTABLE 2957 CHARLES WILLIAMS, JR

Police Constable 2957 Charles
Williams, Jr grew up on Moore's Island, Abaco and attended
school there and later he attended high school in
Freeport, Grand Bahama. Upon graduation from Jack Hayward High
School, Williams entered the Bahamas Police College and graduated in
2005. After spending a short time in Grand Bahama with the Urban
Renewal programme he was transferred to Bimini in late 2005. In
Bimini he performs general police duties. He is also attached to the
VIP services unit. Williams' hobbies
include basketball and volleyball and he is a keen follower of most
sporting events, particularly American football and NBA basketball.
Williams' mother works on Moore's Island as a government nurse and
his father is a commercial fisherman based in Abaco.
POLICE CONSTABLE 3183 GARNETTE MILLS

Constable 3183
Garnette Mills was born in Abaco and attended primary school there.
However, she completed her secondary school education at St
George's High School in Freeport, Grand Bahama. She entered the
police college in 2006. Prior to her service in Bimini she was
posted to the Eastern Police Division in Grand Bahama.

CONSTABLE R656 PEDRO CURTIS

Reserve
Constable R656 Pedro Curtis is from Andros and joined the police
reserve branch in 2003. He has served in Andros and Nassau. Curtis
is also a member of the security team at Bimini Bay Resort and
Marina. Constable Curtis performs general police duties.

Reserve Inspector Judy
Barry is manager of BTC (Bahamas Telecommunications
Corporation) in Bimini. Originally from Nassau and then Grand
Bahama, Inspector Barry has been a reserve police officer for many
years. She was promoted to inspector in 2004.
Reserve Sergeant 83
King is a senior Customs Officers and has been posted to
Bimini since 2005. Also from Nassau, and then Grand Bahama, Sergeant
King performs police duties when available.
